Two hands act as socles in the exhibition space.
They are a cast of the artist's hand, and of her son's. Installed at the same heights as the two original hands, they both present a small object: is it a sculpture? an object of contemplation? of artistic inspiration? of learning? of playing...?
It's the hand of the artist who collects and observes, who selects and presents, it's the hand of the child who gathers and looks, it's the hand of the mother who shows to her child, it's the hand of the child who presents to the adult...
These two scupltures-socles embody three views (including the one of the viewer) on objects, and highlight the poetic shifts in status they engender.
NB : The small objects in the hands change as the exhibition goes on. Each object have been found, picked and looked at by the artist's son during what Maria Montessori calls his "sensitive period for small objects" and gathered by the artist.
