The series of photograms ‘View of La Cambre’s wood’ were obtained by the superposition of some drawings I made on glass plates. These drawings were made directly from reality, they represent some various points of view of the same actual landscape.
The drawings are separately «formal drawings» in the sense of Alberti : they are a cut of the visual cone. Each drawing is made from a unique point of view of the environnment.
Once they are superimposed, the image is almost saturated, but the eye of the viewer can still recognize some elements. It seeks to recreate a proper space using the thickness of the lines, the difference of brightnesses, the figures that can be made out.
